I want to know who is going to hold everyone with this administration accountable when they are out of office. Will the DOJ do it when democrats win in 2028? They have to be held accountable.

The shocking way in which ICE apprehended the Tufts grad student has its precedent in Portland, OR, in the summer of 2020. As reported by Oregon Public Broadcasting at the time, federal law enforcement deployed to the city by Trump 1.0. were "using unmarked vehicles to drive around downtown Portland and detain protesters . . . Personal accounts and multiple videos posted online show the officers driving up to people, detaining individuals with no explanation of why they are being arrested, and driving off." LINK:

Very informative thank you for clarifying so many things. I DO support the ACLU and Southern Poverty Law and Global Human Rights, and I know they are going to need a whole lot more support in the coming years or until the "KING" leaves his throne!

The Strongman Republicans and Nazis

The American electorate after being lied to by a wanna be dictator who wanted to use the presidency as a get out of jail free card got a Fuhrer modeled after Hungary's Orban

Rand Paul(R Ten) said it best yesterday “After Republicans put the US into a Depression in 1930 with a tariff war Americans didn’t trust us with power for 60y” The Nazis have used the American electorate like a big experiment Test out a theory and see if it works

Nixon theorized that going off the gold standard would create unlimited government support and it has now led to a currency crisis at the height of a credit cycle and runaway inflation

Reagan theorized “trickle down economics” which by studies didn’t work and created the greatest wealth gap in history

George W theorized “weapons of mass destruction” and that got us the long Middle East War Under his watchful eye the Nazis created the real estate mortgage crisis which triggered the Great Recession in 2008

Now the Nazis and SCOTUS theorize that the Unitary Executive(UE) which gave us a Nazi strongman who will lead us to the Promised land or so Germany thought in the 1930’s But the UE has turned out to be a charlatan who will by most observers throw the country into a recession and possibly another depression 1930 is beginning to sound eerily reminiscent “You have to burn the whole thing down” says Curtis Yarvin and parroted by JD Vance with his wealthy billionaire cronies

Unfortunately the American electorate has a bad case of amnesia until catastrophe strikes Then everyone remembers the past

Donald definitely quacks like a duck. Why anyone listens is beyond me. You know, they teach in law school that it is hard to challenge rules or legislation that has a "rational basis." This administration is generating plenty of rules that have no rational basis. The courts need to identify clearly where this happens.

From 2004 until 2011, I annually journeyed to DC during the most hideously hot/humid/dead air time of year. And, except for fear of heatstroke, it was always the high point of my year. After 2011, my body told me one more July/August cusp visit would not be tolerated. I returned in September 2014, far more civilized weather. Did a lot of touristy things, Smithsonians (in process of Trump corruption), Nationals baseball - gawd those statues are ugly - an opera at KenCen. But - I will never return until Trump is gone, gone, gone. Because it's OUR city, not his.

Very interesting. Didn't realize this had become a thing. D.C. folks should have and keep their vote in Presidential elections. How ugly D.C. would be reshaped Trumps image.

call me a crazy old lady, but I suspect that the Faustian bargain Trump made with Putin during some decades old bankruptcy included the limitless destruction of America, its rule of law, its government, its economy; Trump's moves always benefit him, Putin, and no one else. Russia Russia Russia.

You are soooo correct. Because we know Trump will agree to anything that gets him attention from daddy pootie.

I’m viewing this on an iPad, so perhaps it doesn’t look the same on all devices, but I can click on the “transcript” button located above the description of this video when I want to read along with the audio. I see this button to the right of the “heart”, “comments”, and “restack” icons.

So, a guy who couldn't run his own businesses without driving them into bankruptcy and committing major fraud crimes, combined with a republican congress that can't pass legislation and barely elected its current speaker, think they can run the District better than DC's elected government? What could possibly go wrong?

I really hope the next time the Dems are in power, they move to make DC a state and end the practice of congress treating the city like their personal plaything.
